Autumn in the air

There was a definite chill this morning at the studio so I did some cleaning to keep warm. Keeping on top of all the felt fibres is a constant battle – it gives me a little insight into what it might have been like in Stockport’s hatting factories as I leave coughing and spluttering with with fluff clinging to my hair and clothes.I’ve been obsessed with autumnal colours recently – it must be that back to school feeling that comes with this time of year. So my next batch of hats will be in lovely shades of grey, bordeaux and navy accented with lime, acid yellow and vivid orange! I got my camera working today and the light was lovely in the afternoon so I took some snaps of some of the tools of my trade – more gifts and bits and pieces from Granny Hill, Granny Simpson and Great Auntie Eileen’s sewing boxes.
